This is the ultimate trolling rod because of the action of the blank. It is 100% high modulus graphite through 2/3s of the blank and then it transitions to a fiberglass graphite matrix towards the tip. This allows for maximum lure action for flat lining or a nice bend for down riggers. When fighting a fish there is give in the tip to prevent tear outs or breakage close to the boat but plenty of backbone to fight a big fish. This blank is rated from 6-15lb line and is medium powered. This is perfect for heavy trout, steelhead, walleye, or light salmon. This is a two piece rod and comes with a rod sock but no case.
The Fuji guides are spiral wrapped, meaning the stripping guide aligns with the casting reel and then the guides spiral until they are aligned on the underside of the rod like a spinning rod. This eliminates the twisting torque where a casting rod wants to turn over with line tension or fighting a large fish. Once you try this, you won't want to go back! The rod has 12 guides for the line to smoothly follow the flex of the rod for maximum performance. The tip has silver wraps to make it easy to see the tip action while trolling.
